Interview 1
Standard cosmetic glitters are based on tiny pieces of PET or PVC plastic film and are also known as ‘micro plastics’. Micro plastics make up 85% of plastic pollution found in our environment since the small size of the glitter are hard to be filtered out and take over 1,000 years to degrade
Unlike most glitters, our Bio-glitter is a new technology, based on a biodegradable film that is OK Compost Home certified, Marine and waste water biodegradable, suitable for anaerobic digestion and made from renewable sourced raw materials making it much kinder for our oceans. Microorganisms are required for the glitter to degrade, when tested to ISO14851 standards the vast majority of the biodegradable content degrades in just 4 weeks. To speed up the process, warm and wet conditions are ideal just like a leaf on dry land would take longer to degrade than in a swamp.

We feel that many brands stop at making their products sustainable. That’s always great, but packaging matters too! All of our orders are posted in recyclable bubble mailers or white cardboard boxes. We use eco-friendly paper wrapping where it’s needed to keep your glitter secure. Our glass jars are made from recycled glass with recyclable aluminium lids, and our pots are made from recyclable PP (polypropylene) plastic.
