about disco dust
founders story

dance all night, do no harm

Plastic glitter doesn’t fade away when the night’s over. It gets into our water systems where it can harm sea life and cause pollution. Disco dust is natural, biobased, fresh water biodegradable, and 92% plastic-free!

biodegradable glitter for bold and beautiful spirits

Our glitters are made from cellulose extracted from eucalyptus plants. They’re ethically sourced, cruelty free, and 40% softer on your skin. You can read more about our sustainable practices on our blog.

our packaging promise

We feel that many brands stop at making their products sustainable. That’s always great, but packaging matters too! All of our orders are posted in recyclable bubble mailers or white cardboard boxes. We use eco-friendly paper wrapping where it’s needed to keep your glitter secure. Our new pots are bio based and degrade completely, our glass jars are made from recycled glass with recyclable aluminium lids, and our pots are made from recyclable PP (polypropylene) plastic.

The question we get asked the most is ‘So...how did you get into glitter?’ Our founder Nic is here to tell you a little more about it…

Hi angels - hope you’re loving exploring our sparkles! Our Disco Dust story began back in 2016 when I lived in a crazy abandoned care home in North London. After studying fashion textiles, I was always interested in the weird and wonderful and spent my time assisting photographers and running away to festivals on weekends. Once, I requested to bring glitter to a freshers event. Everyone loved it and the reaction to these tiny pots of glitter was amazing: it was so much fun, but most of all… it made people SO happy! People kept asking where they could buy my glitter... and that’s how it all started!”We’ve been spreading the good vibes ever since. Inspiring you to sparkle, even more than you already do ✨
